• Watch Tracy Morgan tell Letterman gay rant was a misunderstanding

Though Tracy Morgan has long since apologized — in public, many times — for his seemingly anti-gay rant he delivered at a stand-up show in Nashville on June 3, the comedian addressed the issue once again last night. Though, in his defense, it was only because David Letterman asked him to do so.

“I just think it was a misunderstanding,” Morgan told Letterman on Late Show. I was up there working. And sometimes when you have networks like Comedy Central [and people get used to a joke format] where it’s premise, set-up, punch line, premise, set-up, punch line. But I came up under the old regime— George Carlin and all those people. Sometimes I have to make my point. I have to get to it. And I guess it became a big misunderstanding.”

You can watch more of Morgan chat with Letterman below.

What do you think? Has Morgan done enough? Should we let it go, already? Was it lame for Letterman to bring it up so many months after the fact? Sound off in the comments section!
