Will Ferrell, Adam McKay bring second ‘Spoils of Babylon’ to IFC

Will Ferrell’s epic spoof mini-series The Spoils of Babylon will return to IFC for another round The Funny Or Die production will show the latest book-to-screen adaption from fictional author Eric Jonrosh, The Spoils Before Dying. Jonrosh/Ferrell’s monstrous event will premiere in summer 2015 in the form of a six-episode mini-series. Jonrosh will bring a new all-star cast to his production. The Spoils of Babylon flaunted the likes of Val Kilmer, Tobey Maguire, Jessica Alba and Kristen Wiig. Based on the fake author’s first best-selling nonexistent novel, the show takes place in the underbelly of the 1950s jazz scene. The detective story follows a jazz-pianist who investigates a murder. Ferrell and Adam McKay return to executive produce. McKay commented, “The first Spoils mini-series beat the NFL and Big Bang Theory in ratings (adults: ages 74-92) and changed the way Americans talk, think and prepare meat. We anticipate this new series…becoming the most watched television event in the history of earth.” Big dreams for a mini-series. Check in next year to see what Ferrell’s team brings to IFC.
