• Will you buy the ‘Anchorman 2’ Superticket? (Poll)

Paramount’s countless Anchorman promotional stunts might be enough to lure fans into purchasing a “superticket” for the sequel’s premiere. We reported earlier that Paramount planned to offer a similar “superticket” package that they did for their summer World War Z release. The idea is that, for a price, people can see the movie before anyone else and gain extra perks.

Details have now emerged about the package, which allows for a Dec. 16 screening, two days before the nationwide release, and it will run a theatergoer $33. On top of the early screening, purchasers will receive a digital download of Anchorman — Wake Up Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie, which is the alternate ending of the first film; a pre-order for the digital download of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues weeks before it’s released on DVD and Blu-ray; and a $5 AMC concession card. That’s a $41-$53 value* if you know you’ll end up wanting your own copy of the film in a few months. To compare, the financially successful World War Z package only gave early-screeners a digital download of the film, 3D glasses and a movie poster for a total of $50.

The announcement was made by Ron Burgundy himself (seriously, Will Ferrell must be getting pretty comfortable in that suit at this point). Tickets are now available through Fandango. Check out Ron Burgundy’s announcement below.

    * Value based on the average national ticket price of $8.03, the $5 AMC gift card, $7.99-14.99 for Anchorman on DVD/Blu-ray, and the going rate of a new release comedy on DVD/Blu-ray of $19.99-24.99.
